SUNOXY-300 is a high activity non-staining, non-discoloring antioxidant for natural and synthetic elastomers and adhesives. It is also a stabilizer for thermoplastics such as ABS and polyolefins.
Ø SUNOXY-300 is a powerful antioxidant for use in applications requiring heat resistance. It is suitable for the protection of white and light-colored NR and synthetic rubber compounds, including latex formulations and adhesives.
Ø Because of its low volatility, it has significant advantage over more highly volatile antioxidants such as BHT and quinones.
Ø SUNOXY-300 provides excellent protection against degradation catalyzed by heavy metals.
Ø Additional uses of SUNOXY-300 include stabilization of NBR elastomer, ABS, and polyolefins such as PE, PP, EPM, and EPDM.
Ø SUNOXY-300 is regulated for use in articles in contact with food.
Typical usage levels of SUNOXY-300 in solid rubber compounds is 1 to 2 phr (non-blooming).
SUNOXY-300 provides good oxidative aging resistance in NR and synthetic rubber formulations of CR, SBR, and NBR. It has no influence on the processing safety and curing characteristics.
SUNOXY-300 also improves the fatigue life of sulfur modified CR formulations.
SUNOXY-300 has good resistance to leaching, provides protection against heavy metal catalyzed degradation in solid rubber, and can be used in conjunction with other anti-degradants such as zinc methyl mercaptobenzimidazole.
SUNOXY-300 can be easily made into an aqueous dispersion for use in latex. A recommended
dispersion formula and procedure can be obtained from your local Flexsys office. In latex applications,
SUNOXY-300 imparts comparable properties as in solid rubber.
SUNOXY-300 is used for the stabilization of NBR and EP polymers at a level of 0.1 to 1.5%.
Polyolefin stabilization is achieved at 0.05 to 0.1% loading.
When used at levels between 1 and 4%, SUNOXY-300 provides excellent oxidative aging resistance for adhesives.
The product belongs to a thiobisphenol antioxidant with high-performance and no-staining. It has double function of primary and secondary antioxidant. It is mainly used in HDPE, LDPE, especially used in crosslinked polyethylene. The product shows low volatility, excellent oxidation resistance, good heat stability and weatherability, few effects on the electrical property of a product. And there is good synergistic effects if it is used with carbon black, so it is suitable for PP, ABS, PS, PVC, PA, PUR etc., and also for white, gorgeous and transparent products. Generally, the dosage is about 0.3%. It has good synergistic effects if the product cooperates with dilauryl thiodipropionate (or distearyl thiodipropionate). In addition, the product is also used as the antioxidant of natural rubber, styrene butadiene rubber, cis-1,4-polybutadiene rubber, silicone rubber and latex, and it has no effects on the vulcanization of glue stock. The product has low toxicity, so it is permitted to use in the plastic products contacting with food.
Store SUNOXY-300 in single stacked pallets in a cool, dry, well ventilated area, avoiding exposure of the packaged product to direct sunlight. Double stacking of palletized material and/or exceeding 35°C can result in unusual compaction of product.
